BMA REQUESTS GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATE SECTORS IN BANGKOK FOR OVERLAPPING THEIR WORKING HOURS OR CONTINUING WORKING FROM HOME
On 28th May 2020, Pol.Lt.Gen. Sopon Pisuttiwong, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, as a director of the BMA’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration, presided over the meeting of the BMA’s Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration, No. 51/2020.
After the BMA has imposed the measures that directed the BMA’s staff to work from home and overlap their working hours to limit the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) since April, 57 BMA’s agencies from the total of 77 has complied with the measures. The inspection showed that their work performances were resulting as planned, which allow them to keep physical distancing in their workplaces./
Coupled with the previous discussion with Traffic and Transportation Department, all agencies have proposed both government and private sectors to have their working hours overlapped or continue working from home, which are not only compliance with social distancing measure, but also ease traffic congestion in Bangkok.
The meeting of the BMA’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration has agreed to direct the BMA’s agencies to continue working from home and overlapping their working hours for one more month, until the 30th June 2020. They were also directed to rapidly request government and private sectors in Bangkok area for cooperation in arranging their staff to work from home and overlap their working hours.
