No New COVID-19 Cases in Bangkok

On 27th April 2020, Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, presided over the meeting of the BMA’s Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration, No. 32/2020.

The meeting reported current situation of the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on 27th April 2020. In Bangkok, no new COVID-19 cases were found with the total confirmed cases of 1,481 and total recovered of 1,352, while 125 patients were undergoing treatment in hospitals. There were no deaths and the total deaths were 23. The BMA has discussed with related agencies to lower down the measures in accordance with the Declaration of an Emergency Situation in all areas of the Kingdom of Thailand, extended the curfew to 31st May 2020. The related agencies were directed to evaluate the result from seven COVID-19 screening checkpoints before given the decision to continue or cancel screening procedures.

For remaining travelers in Thailand who are unable to return to their country, the Foreign Affairs Team will discuss with Ministry of Tourism and Sports and Immigration Bureau on supportive measures for these foreign nationals and will report back to the meeting of the BMA’s Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration.
