At its irregular meeting held today, the Cabinet backed the proposal made by the State Emergency Commission to extend the heightened state of readiness for disaster protection or strict-lockdown by 14 days, approving a resolution.
The proposal to extend the lockdown period was put forward to the Cabinet by the State Emergency Commission based on the World Health Organization and experts’ recommendations. Thus, the strict-lockdown, which expires November 17, will be in effect until 6:00am of December 1.
Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Emergency Commission Ya.Sodbaatar was authorized to coordinate inter-sectoral activities and provide unified management, organization and coordination.
Moreover, the Minister of Education and Science was instructed to re-conduct detailed study of students in university dormitories and allowed to cover the cost of providing students with food, sanitation and health products from the budget to be cut from kindergarten and school meals during the lockdown.
