CANCELLATION OF ACTIVITIES AT BANG KHAE HOME FOR THE ELDERLY 2 TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF COVID-19

On 8th June 2020, Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, presided over the meeting of the BMA’s executive. At the meeting, the BMA’s Social Development Department reported the work performance of Bang Khae Home for the Elderly 2 under the supervision of the BMA during the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). In this regard, the Social Development Department has imposed control measures, such as arranging one-way entrance/exit, providing screening point, providing knowledge on disease prevention for elderly people, prohibiting people from coming inside and going outside, and providing surgical masks and daily temperature screening. For the elderly who have a medical condition, the caretakers shall cooperate to pick up medicine for them.

The elderly caretakers need to have a health check before start working, clean their body, have a temperature screening, wash their hands with alcohol-based hand sanitizers, and wear surgical masks. They need to refrain from attending any meetings or participating in any activities hosted in the areas with the risk of disease outbreak and are also not allowed to have inter-provincial travels.

The visitors must refrain from visiting the elderly people. Activities organized by organizations or individuals are prohibited. The private transportation services are not allowed to enter the premise. In case that some of the elderly people are suspicious to be infected, they will be separated from others in the isolation room and will be transferred for immediate medical attention.
