BMA CARE FOR SUFFERERS FROM THE SPREAD OF COVID-19

On 20th May 2020, Pol.Lt.Gen. Sopon Pisuttiwong, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, revealed that the BMA had on-site visit to survey the number of people suffering from the spread of COVID-19, especially for children, women, the elderly, the disabled, and the helpless people living in hardship, and gave them surgical face masks, alcohol-based hand sanitizers, relief supply kits, consumer goods, and instant foods and provided quarantine shelters for people who are considered at risk of infection.

Meanwhile, the BMA also offers help according to BMA regulations, for example, providing funds for vocational training and career funds and handed out homegrown vegetable sprouts and DIY kits for growing vegetable at home.

Moreover, the BMA has collaborated with Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Social Development and Human Security in order to ensure the right and accessibility to social welfare as well as other welfare benefits such as allowances for the disabled and the elderly, transferring of homeless people to shelter for homeless, and providing vocational training by offering a training courses on various subjects via online system from website of Social Development Department http://www.bangkok.go.th/social and website of Ministry of Labour.
