SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA, March 3, 2020 – The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it begins operations of “drive-thru” coronavirus testing station as of March 3 for easier and faster detection of COVID-19 infectors.
It also said that doctors and medical staff from the Military Manpower Administration join this temporary testing service. They provide their medical testing services at the drive-through testing sites prepared at parking lots of the Seoul Fire Academy in Seocho-gu and of the Jamsil Main Stadium in Songpa-gu to test suspected patients within a short period of time.
As demand soars for this drive-thru test, the Seoul Metropolitan Government is continuously inviting doctors and other medical staff to ensure stable operations of the drive-thru testing facilities. Those who would like to join this effort can apply through the Seoul Volunteer Center at http://volunteer.seoul.go.kr/?menuno=52.
The drive-thru testing stations operated by the Seoul Metropolitan Government begin their operations from March 3 at parking lots of the Eunpyeong Hospital (in Eunpyeong-gu), the Seoul Fire Academy (in Seocho-gu), and the Jamsil Main Stadium (in Songpa-gu). The one at Ewha Womans University Medical Center (in Gangseo-gu) will be open on March 5. They all open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both on weekdays and weekends.
The drive-through testing facility is receiving positive reviews since people can get tested for the virus without ever getting out of their cars. It is less face-to-face contact, which cuts testing time and also limits the exposure of others waiting and medial workers to the virus.
