To prevent the spread of coronavirus
- Entry to Russia for foreign citizens and stateless persons is restricted until 1 May.
- Flights from Russia to EU countries, Switzerland, Norway, UK, USA and UAE are cancelled, except for some regular flights to the capitals passing through Sheremetyevo International Airport (Terminal F). Charter flights transporting Russian and EU, USA and UAE citizens home are allowed.
What are the symptoms?
In the vast majority of cases, these symptoms are typical of the common cold, not coronavirus.
Do you have similar symptoms?
Have you visited China, Iran, South Korea, the USA, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, Belarus, EU countries and non-EU European countries in the past two weeks? Have you been in contact with people who have visited these countries?
If yes, you must take the symptoms seriously, self-medication is prohibited. Dial 103 to call a doctor.
How is coronavirus transmitted?
Like other respiratory viruses, it is transmitted mainly by airborne droplets when coughing or sneezing. Also, it can spread when you touch any contaminated surface like a door handle. In this case, you get infected when you touch your mouth, nose, or eyes with contaminated hands.
Where can I get tested for coronavirus?
Private labs do not provide tests for COVID-19. Russian public hospitals test those who have crossed the border of one of the high-risk countries (China, Iran, South Korea, the USA, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, Belarus, EU countries and non-EU European countries) in the past 14 days, have developed common cold symptoms or visited countries with at least one confirmed coronavirus case or those who have come into contact with an infected person.
How to prevent coronavirus?
- The most important thing you can do to protect yourself is to keep your hands clean. When you cough or sneeze, cover your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue.
- Avoid touching your mouth, nose or eyes with unwashed hands (usually we do this unconsciously 15 times an hour on average).
- If you develop symptoms similar to COVID-19, stay at home and call a doctor immediately.
- If you have to travel abroad, be sure to check the epidemiological situation in the country and observe proper hygiene.
At home
- Always wash your hands before meals.
- Air rooms on a regular basis, wash the floors, wipe tables, shelves, and dishes.
- Explain to your children how germs spread and why a proper hand and face hygiene is important.
- If you suspect a coronavirus, isolate a patient in a separate room and call a doctor.
In transport and other public places
- Carry hand sanitizer with you wherever you go to clean your hands.
- When in public places, avoid touching any surfaces or objects.
- Do not eat food (nuts, crisps, and other snacks) from shared packages or dishes if other people have dipped their fingers into it.
- Carry disposable tissues wherever you go. Always cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Do not reuse tissues, throw them away at once.
At work
- Frequently clean the surfaces and devices you touch (computer keyboard, office equipment panels, smartphone screen, remotes, door handles and handrails)
- Keep your hands clean, wash them frequently with soap and water, or use a disinfectant.
- Ventilate the office several times a day.
